Sony NEX-7 (front) vs Olympus OM-D E-M5 Olympus has announced the OM-D E-M5 and it has a lot of people excited. It has features that would be welcomed in a Sony NEX body - in-body image stabilization, dust proof, and splash proof body. It uses a 16mp micro 4/3 sensor versus the NEX-7's 24mp APS-C sensor. The LCD on the OM-D is touchscreen but it has less resolution than the NEX's. It is priced closely to the NEX-7 . Let's see how the OM-D E-M5 compares to the Sony NEX-7. Thomas sent us an email to share his Nomad Panohead for the Sony NEX system and the Samyang 7.5mm Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3rds cameras.The Nomad Panohead with the Samyang 7.5mm FE is a compact and lightweight system which can cover 360° with four shots. Sony NEX Converted Voigtlander 25mm 0.95 on eBay

Suwen emailed us and told us that he converted the low light Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 lens for the Sony NEX E-mount. He wasn't pleased with the micro four thirds to E-mount adapter since the lens couldn't achieve focus at infinity on the NEX. The converted CV 25mm f/0.95 lens is now on eBay . As you can see from the video about, the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 is great for low light with such a large aperture but since it was designed for the smaller micro four thirds sensor it vignettes on the Sony NEX's aps-c sensor. Sony NEX Shift Lens via Micro Four Thirds

Here's a way to get perspective control on the Sony NEX. We can use a Micro Four Thirds to Sony NEX E-mount Lens Adapter to connect the Fotodiox Shift Adapter shown below. The shift adapter comes in many different mounts which accept Minolta SR, Leica R, Nikon, or Canon. Here's an example of the perspective control possible with a shift lens. This is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Photo by Gerald.D. Another option would be to use a Nikon to a Sony NEX E-mount lens adapter and a Nikon PC-E lens. Canon also makes a tilt shift lens and you can use a Canon to Sony NEX E-mount lens adapter .

Sony NEX-5 with Panasonic Lumix 3D Lens

hunslis combined the Sony NEX-5 with the Panasonic Lumix 12.5mm f/12 3D G Lens using a micro four thirds lens adapter for the Sony E-mount to create an APS-C sensored hybrid 3D camera. This makes for a very compact shooting rig. Sony NEX-5 with Voigtlander 25mm 0.95 Lens

Sony NEX-5 with Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 Lens Here are some photos by Woodent taken with the Sony NEX-5 and the new Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 Lens for micro four thirds cameras. Woodent used the adapter on eBay that we posted about previously . As you can see the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 is designed for the tiny sensored µ4/3 system and therefore vignettes heavily on the Sony NEX-5. Woodent also mentions that the Micro Four Thirds to Sony NEX E-mount lens adapter cannot give proper infinity focus. This is unfortunate but the center of the images look sharp. Thanks Woodent!

Sony NEX-5 with the Panasonic 14-45 micro 4/3 lens Here's a new adapter for the Sony NEX E-mount. It's the micro 4/3 lens adapter for the Sony NEX cameras . We are not sure if the image circle will cover the larger APS-C sensor found in the NEX. Unfortunately the eBay listing does not provide sample photos.
